Lover Mae B. Amodia’s journey in finance began not in a boardroom, but in the humble streets of her childhood, where she crafted her first “alkansya” from a Johnson’s baby powder container and sold homemade yema to neighbors. These early experiences—counting profits, extending credit, and sharing meals bought from her savings—planted the seeds for her future as a financial planner.

Today, as the founder of Dorika Wealth, she transforms those childhood lessons of resourcefulness into professional wisdom, guiding clients toward what she calls “360° abundance”—a philosophy that views wealth as encompassing far more than just monetary gain.

Her path to financial expertise was shaped by both inspiration and perseverance. Early exposure to industry leaders like Randell Tiongson and Ricky So during her time as a young Financial Advisor ignited her passion, while life’s detours only strengthened her resolve. “I told myself I’d return to this industry,” she recalls.

That promise came to fruition in 2020 when she launched Dorika Wealth, merging her entrepreneurial spirit with a mission to provide unbiased, step-by-step financial guidance. For Lover Mae, success isn’t measured in commissions, but in significance—the tangible impact she creates for clients.

When asked, “What motivated you to join the Registered Financial Planner (RFP) program, and how did it influence your approach to financial planning?” Lover Mae shared,

“When I was in my early 20s, I had the opportunity to join one of the leading life insurance companies in the country as a Financial Advisor. Influenced by my partner at the time, who was an economics student, and inspired by my exposure to industry leaders like Randell Tiongson and Ricky So, whom I met through that company, I found myself drawn to the world of finance. That exposure sparked something in me. I started watching Salve Says and On The Money, and developed a deep interest in the process of financial planning. I knew then that I wanted to become an expert in the field someday.”

Though I had to pause my career as a Financial Advisor due to certain life circumstances and other job opportunities, my admiration and passion for the industry never faded. I still remember telling my co-agent back then, ‘Someday, I’ll return to this industry and maybe, I’ll even build my own company.’ That day came in 2020, during the height of the lockdowns. After months of reflection, preparation, and research while still working in a corporate job, I knew I was ready. That year, I founded Dorika Wealth, a financial planning consultancy.”

“To strengthen my credibility and value to clients, I enrolled in the Registered Financial Planner (RFP) program. My life motto is simple: Don’t worry about becoming successful; work toward becoming significant, and success will naturally follow. That philosophy guides how I operate in my business. I don’t chase commissions—they always come second to my mission: to provide unbiased advice and take a step-by-step approach that truly serves my clients. At Dorika Wealth, I strive to help clients achieve 360° abundance. Because to me, wealth isn’t just about money. It comes in many forms.”

In response to the question, “How has becoming an RFP helped you in making better investment and wealth-building decisions?” she explained,

“Becoming an RFP has transformed the way I approach both personal and client-centered financial decisions. It gave me a structured and holistic framework that goes beyond just choosing the right investments.”

“Before, I used to look at financial tools like isolated pieces—investments, insurance, budgeting—as separate checkboxes. But through the RFP program, I learned how to connect all those dots in a way that actually reflects real life. That shift from being a seller of financial products to becoming a true planner has been the most valuable investment I’ve made in myself.”

And when asked, “What’s the most valuable lesson you learned from the RFP program, and how have you applied it in your own financial journey?” she reflected,

“One of the most valuable lessons I learned from the RFP program is that there’s no one-size-fits-all strategy. Everyone’s journey is different, and what works for one person might not work for another. In my case, I learned the importance of ‘protect first, grow next.’ So before going full force on investments, I made sure my protection needs were covered. That gave me the confidence and stability to grow my wealth in a more sustainable and secure way.”

Lover Mae’s story—from a girl counting coins in a repurposed powder tin to a planner empowering others—proves that financial wisdom isn’t just learned; it’s lived. Through Dorika Wealth, she pays forward the mentorship she once sought, turning her childhood resourcefulness into a legacy of abundance.
