Marion Irvin S. Evangelista, RFP®, is a distinguished financial planner whose expertise transcends traditional wealth management. Recognized by the Registered Financial Planner Institute in the Philippines, he combines financial acumen with real estate proficiency as a Licensed Real Estate Broker and Appraiser, offering clients comprehensive strategies for asset growth.
His multifaceted career spans leadership development, having mentored professionals as a Past District Trainer for Toastmasters, and sales optimization, where he consulted for the automotive industry. This unique blend of skills enables Marion to deliver holistic financial solutions grounded in both technical precision and behavioral insight.
Beyond credentials, Marion stands out for his ability to bridge disciplines—transforming complex financial concepts into actionable plans while addressing the psychological barriers to wealth-building. His approach reflects a deep understanding that true financial freedom requires more than savvy investments; it demands clarity of purpose, disciplined execution, and alignment with one’s values.
Whether guiding clients through property ventures or coaching professionals in communication, Marion’s mission remains consistent: to empower individuals to take control of their financial destinies.
What Inspired Marion to Pursue the RFP Designation?
For Marion, the RFP program was a natural extension of his passion for growth and education.
“I joined the Registered Financial Planner (RFP) program because of my passion to continuously improve. I know I already live a frugal lifestyle but I know I can still learn more. I am into public speaking and leadership and I felt financial planning is a great topic to share. All our material possessions start with one thing – money. As a financial planner, I know I can inspire and help people with effective knowledge in managing finances.” he explains.
The certification refined his planning methodology, shifting his focus from generic advice to personalized, goal-driven strategies. By integrating RFP principles, he now helps clients connect financial decisions to their broader life aspirations—whether funding a child’s education or securing a dream retirement.
How Has RFP Certification Shaped his financial decision?
The program revolutionized Marion’s perspective on wealth.
“Being an RFP totally removed my tendency to compare my financial status with others. Here I discovered that we each have our own unique definitions of wealth. For some, it is the literal number on their bank statement. For others, it is freedom from debt. I follow a lean-and-mean portfolio for my goals. I may not wear the fanciest clothes not drive the most expensive car but I know I am enough – financially and spiritually.” he notes.
Instead of chasing external benchmarks, he advocates for “lean-and-mean” portfolios tailored to individual definitions of success. This mindset—rooted in self-awareness and disciplined risk management—has become the cornerstone of his practice, helping clients avoid emotional decisions and build resilient financial foundations.
What Transformative Lesson Does Marion Credit to the RFP Program?
“Five years after becoming a Registered Financial Planner, I am confident to say that programming significantly affect how we magnetize wealth. One can attend a financial forum every year and still not change. One can watch videos of the best financial planners and still live a life of scarcity, survival and self-doubt. Intentional or not, these limiting beliefs were subconsciously wired to us by our family, friends and our immediate environment. That is why many, even if they graduate from very competent universities, remain financially-challenged for generations. To truly change, we must change our environment and certain people around us. This is easier said than done. This required a deep sense of introspection. ,”
Marion asserts. The RFP journey prompted deep introspection about the narratives shaping his financial behaviors. By cultivating a supportive environment and intentional habits, he overcame subconscious barriers to abundance. Today, he applies this lesson by encouraging clients to audit their influences—because wealth, he believes, flourishes in ecosystems of empowerment. He also added,
“I am blessed to have identified my self-limiting beliefs. By spending time in solitude and having a circle of motivated individuals, I discovered that I could be better. I did not want a life where my family and I would just have enough. I want more than enough. I want peace of mind. I am thankful to the Registered Financial Planner program for changing me financially and I look forward to inspiring more by being a great example.”
Marion’s story exemplifies how the RFP designation transcends technical training—it’s a catalyst for personal and professional reinvention. Through his multidisciplinary lens, he proves that financial planning isn’t just about numbers; it’s about designing lives of purpose, confidence, and lasting prosperity.
