Warren Augustus D. de Guzman, RFP®, is a financial advocate whose career embodies the intersection of media, banking, and social impact. A certified Registered Financial Planner since 2020, he has leveraged his 17-year background in broadcast journalism—where he served as a business anchor, executive producer, and award-winning financial reporter—to democratize complex economic concepts for everyday Filipinos.

His transition to the banking sector further solidified his mission, as he pioneered customer experience innovations and sustainability frameworks, including AI-driven solutions that make financial services more accessible.

Beyond corporate leadership, Mr. de Guzman’s true distinction lies in his nation-building initiatives. Partnering with fellow RFP advocate Salve Duplito, he has co-hosted financial literacy forums and designed free Financial Wellness programs for public school teachers, students, and employees.

His holistic approach—rooted in empathy and analytical rigor from his Ateneo de Manila education—reflects a steadfast belief: financial empowerment is the cornerstone of both individual stability and national progress.

What Inspired Warren to Pursue the RFP Certification?

Encouraged by financial educator Salve Duplito, Warren joined the RFP program to deepen his planning acumen. The certification transformed his perspective, equipping him to integrate critical factors like inflation and compounding into investment strategies.

“Ms. Salve Duplito encouraged me to join. It has greatly improved my personal financial planning, allowing me to properly account for inflation when exploring investment opportunities.” he notes.

This ethos now drives his advocacy, where he translates technical knowledge into actionable community programs.

How Has RFP Certification Enhanced His Wealth-Building Strategies?

The program sharpened Warren’s awareness of money’s systemic power—and the value of community.

“I have become very aware of the power of money, compounding, and inflation. It has also connected me with a great community of like minded individuals who are always ready to share information and best practices.” he shares.

Surrounded by like-minded professionals, he refined best practices for risk management and long-term growth, which he now shares through training modules. His focus? Teaching Filipinos to harness compounding while mitigating inflation’s erosive effects.

What Legacy Does Warren Hope to Create Through RFP Principles?

For Warren, the RFP’s most profound lesson was scalability. “Financial wellness isn’t a privilege; it’s a right,” he asserts. At China Bank Savings, he institutionalized this belief by launching free financial literacy initiatives targeting underserved groups. His vision is clear: to foster a generation of Filipinos who view money not just as currency, but as a tool for collective resilience. Through education and accessible planning, Warren proves that finance, when guided by purpose, can build stronger families—and a stronger nation.

“I have used my RFP certification to create a Financial Wellness program here at China Bank Savings, which we offer for free to public school teachers, students, and private and public employees. It has greatly influenced my approach to nation-building and corporate social responsibility. I believe financial wellness is the key to a strong Philippine economy, and we have internal targets to train as many Filipinos as possible to contribute to the overall financial stability of the Filipino family.”
